Report for the September 2021 Parish Council Magazine -Kippax Matters

Our flower beds around Kippax look at their best at the moment and its lovely to see the 'fruits of our labour'. The Yorkshire in Bloom judges have been unable to make a physical visit to us this year but our fantastic volunteers have still continued with the Bloom work around our community throughout these very challenging times and the results speak for themselves. Our grass cutting teams make all the difference around Crosshills, Butt Hill Gardens, The Coal Tub, Calvert CI and the Tropical beds on Leeds Rd. by making regular cuts and edging also.

. We appreciate your great comments on Facebook re our wildflower planting in the LCC bed on Westfield Lane and also around the Moorgate Pub and we plan hopefully to add extra wildflower areas around Kippax next year.

We have made a start on the Dementia friendly/ Sensory Garden on Maltkin Lane with many thanks to James Moulstone, a local landscape gardener, who is giving his time for free. This is a very big project for us so please contact us if you feel you can help in any way.

We're delaying our 20 years celebrations until next year when hopefully we can involve everyone including our local schools.

We thank all our sponsors and helpers and we're grateful for the support of Kippax Parish Council, LCC Parks and Countryside and Locality Team, Mary James and Mirelle our Ward Councillors and Marie and Jonny at Woodend Nurseries.

If you can help by volunteering for our work parties (no experience needed) or through sponsorship please contact me at psamvkib@aol.com by telephone on 0113 2862283 or call to see me at Pats Sweets. Our website is www.kippaxinbloom.com.
